Sept. new-car market expands 4.5% behind scrappage program

Retail sales of new sedans, crossovers, SUVs and multipurpose vehicles rose 4.5 percent to 2.11 million in September after declining five straight months, the China Passenger Car Association said on Oct. 12, drawing on a final tally.
